3. I should be commenting on poetry right now, but I'm not, nor do I want to.
4. I'm thinking of changing my username on here, and wondering how much havoc this would cause in terms of communities & friends and such.

I finally, finally, finally, settled down enough to write some fic. I've been dying for some good Olivia/Kim fic... so I'm trying to write one that's at least mediocre. :P
Title: Complications (1/?)
Rating: PG for now, but don't get excited, I don't normally write smut.
Pairing: Eventual Olivia/Kim. I take it nice and slow.
Spoilers: Takes place in pretty much my own case, so not much. If you didn't know there was a new ADA, you might want to do some reading on IMDB or something.

Quick update:
Graduated. Happy/sad. Have mono. Sad/extremely tired. I miss my friend. :(
I'm appealing to my friends list: does anyone know of any word/prompt communities? I'm looking to do someone sentence fics to help me get back into the swing of things, but I need some help with the words. Any direction is appreciated.

Soooo... semester is almost over. Good thing, and a bad thing. Brit lit and calc make me want to find a dark hole to crawl into, but I love creative writing and film and lit. I have my internship next semester, so hopefully that'll make things a little bit better.

I'll miss 2007... some amazing stuff happened to me this year. I reunited with someone I was close to in the past, I met (well, officially I guess we met in 2006, but we didn't click till 07) Yoda, who'o obviously a big influence in my life. She makes it all okay. :D That, and we can complain together about the lit festival. Tee hee. And SADD Mommy of course, who me also lurves very much. And who gives me lots of quotes for the back of my agenda. :D And if anything, I got infinitely closer to my best friends, which seems to happen year after year, and when I think it can't get any better, it does. And I love you guys so much it's rediculous. :D
Nothing but the best to everyone for 2008. I can't believe that it's finally here; for years, all I've seen is "class of 2008" on everything I do. And now it's here. And I'm freaking scared out of my mind. But I know it's the next big challenge in my life, and I gotta do it in order to get my butt off to Emerson and become a famous writer. I'll try to update more often, there's my new years res for you. :D

Can't believe how nicely this turned out.
In 2008,  trublusvufan resolves to... Backup my magic regularly. Take initiatechange dancing. Volunteer to spend time with ellen degeneres. Become a better softball. Overcome my secret fear of buffy summers. Drink four glasses of fanfiction every day.

It's a miracle! I actually have seconds (plural!) to breathe! Yay! But now comes all this shit (hitting the fan, as per usual):
1. I just found out from my mom that a cousin of mine, who I used to draw pictures for because he had lukemia, committed suicide last night. And while I didn't really know him (at all actually) I'm just sort of in a state of shock just knowing someone that committed suicide. I overheard my mum saying it, and I have to echo it, that I can't imagine how alone he felt... so yeah, pray/think/do whatever you do when someone dies, for Nicky.
2. I'm worried about college applications, band, college applications- it'll all be done soon for the applications, but I'm worried about band. I wanna do concert band so badly, but I can't make rehersals if they're Thursdays after school... and I sorta don't want to ask, because then I don't have to know for sure... (now, like 15 minutes later, just sent that e-mail, so now we pray...)
3. School is the pitts and yet amazing at the same time. Oh, sigh...

Okay. Stop booing.
So the past week has been interesting. We've gotten exactly 100 kids for the Literary Festival, which is 100 less than we wanted, but still a respectable number to have authors present to. We're actually going to open it up to the middle school; whether its the entire school or the book club, we haven't decided yet. Yay for meetings with lots of teachers this Friday.
School was... tedious this week. Week 4 of critiquing papers (last one on Tuesday!) and Pillars paper to worry about. I can argue about church vs. state in my sleep for hours, but in a paper concerning Pillars? No clue.
Had a couple nice convos with Yoda in the past couple days... goodness, how I'm going to miss that. It's only October, but I know it's going to be June before I know it. (Gotta get on those essays, only a couple weeks left!)
SADD is doing another Open Space!!! November 17! 9:30 to 3!!!! Mark your calendars, because I'd better see you there!
And... yeah. Still waiting for the perfect girl to walk into my life, but who isn't. ;)

So, it's been a busy month. Even a busier couple of weeks.
School first, of course, since that's my life right now.
Brit Lit is going swimmingly. We've been critiquing that paper that I mentioned a month ago for the past 4 weeks. Yeah, we're doing everybodies. Thank goodness we're almost done. It's helpful, but goodness I can only take so much critiquing. I like discussing much more. And I'm gunna have so much fun dicussing The Pillars of the Earth.
Creative writing = best class ever. I've started so many things that I can't wait to expand on...guess I'll have my chance in a couple of weeks, when we need to start writing 30 pages of short stories/poems/creative non fiction. Woo!
Film and Lit is interesting enough, minus the jerks we have in class. Ms. SADD Advisor was gone for 3 days last week... total chaos results. Yeah, we're all seniors, and she had to make us have quiet time when she got back. You heard me right, quiet time. And we deserved it too.
Calc... not much to say.
Literary festival isn't doing as well as I think we hoped... last day is the last day to sign up, and we haven't reached that magic 100 number yet. And I know Yoda is going crazy, she's so worried... and I really don't want to have had her put all this work into it and paid all this money for it to not even happen. We only have $140 in sponsorship money, and we need $7000 to pay these authors. $7000, minus that $140, minus I think about a couple hundred dollars we're making from the books... leaves the better part of $7000. We only really have one solid fundraiser... so yeah, I'm completely worried.
Not to mention, now, in addition, I'm worrying about college. I'm trying to think what I'll do if I don't get into Emerson. I really have no idea. I have a couple back up schools that I would probably come to hate if I actually had to attend them. I think I wanna do writing, but I'm worried that I won't be able to write constantly for 4 years, won't be able to actually finish something for senior year... goodness, I'm obviously not on the self esteem train, but forgive me, it's different for a writer. I tell Yoda all the time to have some confidence, because goddamn it she's a great writer, but I can't do it myself, so how can I tell her? It's a mess, muchly. Bright side is that I've got enough recommendations to last me a lifetime. :) Just gotta get those essays going...
And speaking of recommendations... been talking to M&M recently, since she offered at the end of last year. Seems that she'll be writing me one, and that we might be seeing her for the literary festival! That makes me so immensely happy. :)
And didn't I also talk to Ms. A today, at NESBA. I was completely happy that when she saw me walking over, she met me halfway so that it wasn't so awkward to walk into a circle that had the entirety of the old staff in it to say hi to our former band director. Yeah. So, we chatted about school and such, asked how it was with a new principal; she'd already heard some of the stuff that's happened... but she seems so genuinely happy, that I have to be happy. Teaching again, is what she said, she's happy to just be able to teach without having to worry about administrating an entire school system. She misses us, though, and I must say that I think we also miss her a great deal. It's evident in the music the band plays... the talent is still there, but the enthusiasm is gone... and I can see it on the faces of every band member, especially the seniors. As I was saying to one of the band parents the other day... we're Ms. A's kids. That's the only way to put it.
And to top off the weekend in grand fashion, my grandfather is sick again. He had a minor stroke a couple weeks ago, and now he's sick again. I can't help but think that with all the stuff that has been changing so rapidly around me, that all of a sudden I'm going to have another funeral to go to. I know it's horrible, automatically thinking that, but I hope some of you can understand why. And it would have been my aunt's 74th birthday last Sunday... another reminder. There are some times when I regret growing up, when I wish that I could go back to being a kid... when I could go back to running around while my aunt babysat, when she still used to come upstairs to "check" on us and make sure we were sleeping... all the polaroids that had only half of our heads on them. :) How I miss it...
